Armenian community of Uzbekistan celebrates Armenians’ victories in May

As reported Hayern Aysor, every year in May, the Armenian National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, under the leadership of Martin Setyan, traditionally organizes festive ceremonies dedicated to Victory Day. As in the past, the participants of the event visited the tomb of USSR hero Armen Hayriyan and laid flowers near it. The ceremony of paying homage to the war veterans continued at Diana Restaurant with the participation of the Armenians from Samarghand. The heroes of the day were four war veterans, including three from Tashkent and one from Samarghand. Two had come with shirts devoted to Putin with the words “Спасибо Деду за Победу!”. The attendees expressed their kind words of gratitude and many wishes to the veterans. Chief coach of the Uzbek national football team Samvel Babayan also congratulated the veterans. Martin Setyan, Karine Martirosyan, Armen Der-Avanesyants and Pavel Ivanyan had done everything possible to make sure the veterans were respected and appreciated.
On behalf of the Armenian community of Samarghand, Director of Luys Armenian Cultural Center Armen Der-Avanesyants congratulated Uncle Zhora, expressed kind wishes and gave gifts. All the veterans received sums of money as gifts. The event featured performances of Armenian patriotic songs and the traditional “Kochari” Armenian dance. Erebouni Armenian Dance Ensemble made the festive concert splendid with its performance.
