Premiere of film “The Promise” held in Jordan

On April 25, the remarkable Taj Cinemas in Amman, in partnership with Jordan’s Vartavar Armenian Choir, hosted the grand premiere of the film “The Promise”. The two auditoriums were packed with about 330 people. Honorary Consul of Armenia in Jordan Arthur Akljyan was also attending the premiere.
As the Armenian community reported to Hayern Aysor, the reception featured a performance by Vardouhi Toroian-Nersesian’s Vartavar Armenian Choir, which performed the great songs of Komitas once again.
In her opening speech, Maral Nersesian talked about the history of the film and, on behalf of the Armenian community, expressed gratitude to the Hashemite family for cordially receiving Armenian Genocide survivors and granting them equal rights in accordance with the decree that Hussein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca issued in 1917.
The film “The Promise” can serve as a new way of familiarizing other nations with the Armenian Genocide.
Preservation of the Armenian identity in the Armenian Diaspora begins with unity. Once again, the Armenian community of Jordan proved to the world that the Armenian continues to live and create.
We would like to express special gratitude to Maral Nersesian and Saro Yesaian for helping make the premiere of the film “The Promise” in Jordan a great success.
