Permyakov sentenced to life in prison

By the ruling of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Province, Valery Permyakov, the Russian soldier who killed the seven members of the Avetisyan family from Gyumri, was sentenced to life in prison.

The court considered the allegations under all the articles that Permyakov was charged with as approved, including Article 104 (2)(1)(5)(8) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder of two or more persons with special brutality and with banditry), Article 175 (2)(3)(4) (entering an apartment illegally, banditry with the use of a weapon) and Articles 34-329 (1) (attempt to cross the state border illegally).

In particular, Permyakov was given a life sentencing under Article 104 (2)(1)(5)(8) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (special brutality) by the court ruling alone.
