Lesson/event devoted to notable Armenian businessman and benefactor Alexander Mantashyan

On 24 March, the secondary school in the Yegheg village of the Syunik Province of the Republic of Armenia hosted a lesson/event dedicated to the 175th birth anniversary of notable Armenian businessman and benefactor Alexander Mantashyan, whose name is included in the program for the 2017 Our Greats Program of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia.

As reported Hayern Aysor, the school’s eighth graders presented the life and career and benevolent acts of Alexander Mantashyan, while the ninth graders shared interesting stories and provided information about the great benefactor and read the opinions of notable individuals, drawing the audience’s attention to the thoughts of Alexander Shirvanzadeh.

“The loss that the Armenian nation is suffering today is irreplaceable. It was not the tremendous quantity of money that he would generously give as charity, which is the most sacred of everything that is sacred. It was the heart that was performing the only role and the only great role in the charities of Mantashyants. He would give without wanting anything in return and without vain ambitions. He would give because that was what his sensitive soul dictated. His benevolence was based on Christianity-“Give in a way that your left hand doesn’t know that your right hand is giving”. It was his modesty and a décor that was so hard to find. The only thing left for the nation to do is to appreciate and be deeply grateful for a person with such a heart, and the nation very highly appreciates it,” Shirvanzadeh said.
