Congratulatory message of RA Minister of Diaspora on the establishment of the first Armenian radio show in Mislata

Dear representatives of the Armenian community of Spain and Ararat Armenian Association

Dear Ararat Ghukasyan,

I cordially congratulate you on establishing the first “Armenian Hour” Armenian radio show in the Spanish city of Mislata with the efforts of members of Ararat Association.

The “Armenian Hour” radio show provides all Armenians, especially children and youth with the special opportunity to listen to the spoken Armenian language, become familiar with Armenian national values, become the real bearers of the Armenian system of values from a young age and the first to transmit those values to the generations. What is also nice is that the materials and information provided during the show are provided to the sounds of Armenian songs and poetry.

By establishing the Ararat Armenian Association on the basis of the Armenian Sunday School of Mislata, for years you have directed plays based on national motives and patriotism with the students, have organized exhibitions, have established the “Hairenik” newspaper in Valencia, which still is the first Armenian newspaper in Spain, and the placement of the “Cross of Life” monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and several other events held in Valencia helped lead to the official recognition by the city of Aldaia of Valencia of the Armenian Genocide on 27 October. The city became one of the dozens of cities of Spain to officially recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide.

I have no doubt that the programs aired on the “Armenian Hour” radio show will convey new air and energy to the Armenian community of Spain and will serve as an impetus for more pro-Armenian decisions.

I am certain that the hosts of the radio show, including our beloved historian Ararat Ghukasyan, who is devoted to Armenian national values, film critic Gaiane Ghazaryan and the entire staff will be able to fulfill their duty and awaken the love for the Homeland and the desire to visit Armenia and learn the Armenian language.

I wish “Armenian Hour” uninterrupted airtime and more achievements.

I wish the “Armenian Hour” success!

SINCERELY,

HRANUSH HAKOBYAN
